Removing an address from Entourage 2004's "recent address" list. (posted: 10-12-04 12:04 PM)
If you use Microsoft's Entourage 2004, you may know that the program keeps track of email addresses that you've recently sent mail to, or received mail from. Occasionally, over time, you may get emails from the same person, but from 2 or more email addresses (i.e. MyBuddy@WorkAddress.com and MyBuddy@Yahoo.com). Sometimes you only want to use one of those addresses when responding, and if so, it's nice to remove the other address(es) from Entourage's "memory" so you don't accidentally send to it. Clicking the "Clear List" button in Entourage's Mail & News preferences will get rid of the address, but it will also remove every other recent address that's not in your address book. So, to remove just that one annoying address from Entourage's "recent address" list, do the following:
1. In Entourage, click "Mail," then click on "New Mail."
2. In the "To" field, type the first few letters of the address in the field.
3. Click the address you want to delete on the pop-up menu.
4. Hold down the control key, click the address, and then click "Add to Address Book" on the contextual menu.
5. In the contact window that appears, click the "Delete" button, and the address should no longer show up in the recent address pop-up list.
